BHOPAL: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan continued his tirade against the Congress on Tuesday, saying that the party is confused over its chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming assembly polls. He appealed to the voters not to vote for the Congress and said it miserably failed in its previous regimes."Congress is utterly confused. The party could not decide who will be their 'senapati' (commander) before the elections. This has turned out to be a puzzle on the lines of the 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' quiz contest. Some wants to dub it as Scindia sarkar, some call Kamal Nath Sarkar or Bhuria sarkar and even Ajay Singh sarkar", Chouhan said."If you ask for the chief ministerial candidate, 25 leaders will stand up to greet you with folded hands. Can these confused leaders run a government in the state?" mocked Chouhan, while addressing party workers in Shahdol district.Chouhan toured Shahdol and Umaria districts and accompanied party candidates during the filing of nomination papers. In Shahdol, Chouhan appealed to the people to support Jaisingh Maravi, who is contesting from Jaisinghnagar, Manisha Singh from Jaitpur and Sharad Kol, who is contesting from Beohari. In Umaria, Chouhan addressed the public and urged them to favour Meena Singh for Manpur and Shivnarayan Singh for Bandhavgarh.Raising the development plank, Chouhan said the Congress remained out of power since the last 15 years and is trying to grab power by hook or by crook. He said the party is targeting him and his family members and allegations by Congress president Rahul Gandhi related to Panama Papers against his son have proved to be false."The state was Bimaru (sick) during Congress rule under the leadership of Mr Bantadhar (Digvijaya Singh). There were no roads, no infrastructure, no water for irrigation, no electricity and people celebrated Diwali in darkness. BJP has turned the state into a developed one and is now trying to make it prosperous", said the chief minister.Chouhan said that he would make all efforts to enhance developmental work in Shahdol and the entire state. BJP has targeted to turn the state into a prosperous region by generating new jobs, industries and providing justified price to farmers. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Shivraj Singh in the state would join hands to work for the public", he said."I appeal to the public to vote for BJP candidates. We will celebrate Diwali on November 12. I also request the public to hoist the BJP flag in our house on November 15 and celebrate Kamal Diwali on November 21. You support us for the remaining 22 days, so that I can work for the next five years for you", the chief minister added.
