The Congress, in its 'vachan patra' released on Saturday, promised agricultural loan waiver for farmers up to Rs 2 lakh, setting up of agriculture development commission, a grant of Rs 51,000 for marriage of young women and a minimum support price (MSP) for crops in accordance with the recommendations of Swaminathan Commission.BJP leaders while dubbing the manifesto more a repetition of welfare schemes and promises the party made to public during last 15 years focused on women and youth through state and centre-sponsored schemes, sources said . But, Congress manifesto pinpoints the core area, which touches farmers and women voters."The party has taken extremely good steps to ensure women's safety. There were reports of rising unemployment and anger among upper caste voters, the party has taken all sections into account in its drishti patra," said a state functionary.The BJP's manifesto committee members disclosed that a final draft of the election manifesto has been submitted to chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for approval and it is expected that the manifesto would be released any day after November 14."We have prepared final draft of the manifesto and sought approval of chief minister Chouhan. The party wants the nomination process to be over before the release of the 'drishti patra', convener of manifesto committee Vikram Verma told TOI.He said all sections of the society were taken into consideration and reviewed previous schemes launched for people. BJP leaders asserted BJP plan on farm loan waiver, opening more cow inns, construction of Ram Path and Naramada Parikrama Path were all BJP ideas which would have no impact on public as the saffron party has already begun work on some of projects."It is now up to the chief minister to finalise proposal as the party is trying to add some more sops for farmers and women, including, additional benefits of promises made in the previous manifesto," said a senior BJP leader.BJP is trying to come up with more attractive schemes to counter the Congress manifesto which promised a minimum of Rs 10,000 salary and 25% jobs to local youths employed by investors, who have set up manufacturing units in Madhya Pradesh , sources said.
