Cash on cam, poll official suspended

The act is against Madhya Pradesh Civil Services Conduct Rules 1965 and violates Prevention of Corruption Act, said an official. The whole episode would seem straight out of a slapstick comedy, but what the cameras captured is hardly funny, say officials.Babbu had joined the rush at the office of district election officer to beat the deadline for nomination on November 9. TNNHe submitted his papers as BJP's candidate for Jabalpur West before the Gorakhpur subdivisional magistrate, and his representatives deposited Rs 10,000 as security deposit, said sources.Rathore, who was posted at the SDM's office, then allegedly remarked: "Par, yeh to sirf Rs 10,000 hain (but this is only Rs 10,000)."
