"Rahul Gandhi was also supposed to have held a road show in the town later in the evening and halted at Shahdol during the night.It was one of those rare public meetings, which were held close to the airstrip.

SHAHDOL: B JP workers, who were charged up with the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, were soon in for a shock as soon as Modi's chopper left for Gwalior and news trickled in about sitting BJP MLA from Jaisingh Nagar Pramila Singh defecting to the Congress.Party workers and audience at the public meeting while coming out of the rally venue were seen talking about Singh's defection and its impact on BJP's prospects in the polls.There were also talks in hushed tones about the absence of minister in Shivraj's council of ministers and Shahpur MLA Parasram Dhurve from the meeting. Dhurve was one of the 10 BJP candidates from surrounding constituencies invited to share dais with the Prime Minister.Pramila joined the Congress in the presence of leader of Opposition in the state assembly, Ajay Singh.
