18 NRIs to cast vote via e-post ballot this election

Service voters, who have the option of casting their votes through proxy or postal ballot can now download postal ballot through —ETBP— a secure electronic medium with a ‘one time password’ sent through mobile or email. After finding that the existing system was time consuming, the ECI introduced ETBP –which is one-way postal delivery ballot.The voters will have to download postal ballots using the PIN provided to them through email. BHOPAL: The election fever has spread beyond Madhya Pradesh . Some 18 voters of the state living in 13 countries are among 62,172 service voters of the state, who would be exercising their right to franchise in assembly polls on November 28 through electronically transmitted postal ballot ETBP ).Returning officers of all 230 assemblies in the state sent the ETBP to all these service voters on the email Ids that have already been provided by them. Service voters, who have the option of casting their votes through proxy or postal ballot can now download postal ballot through —ETBP— a secure electronic medium with a ‘one time password’ sent through mobile or email. Once downloaded, they will have to cast votes and seal it in an envelope while signing a declaration form in presence of the officer appointed by EC at their place of work, who will attest it and then send the ballot to the concerning returning officer, whose address would be given on the envelope, sources said.ECI has provided the facility of sending ballot papers free of cost through Speed Post, sources said.
