2 ABVP men booked for poll code violation at PM's meet

BHOPAL: Two Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) workers were booked for poll code violation during Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's programme in Shahdol district . In its report late on Sunday night, the district election officer informed the office of the chief electoral officer two ABVP workers have been booked for violating poll code. They have been booked for poll code violation."Sources said the ABVP workers, Kamlesh Sahu and Saurabh Gole had brought college students from a private university Pandit SN Shukla Vishwavidyala in Shahdol without informing authorities of the university.News regarding this was published in local newspapers and taking cognizance of it, the office of the chief electoral officer ordered a probe and sought a report from the district election officer, sources said. In its report late on Sunday night, the district election officer informed the office of the chief electoral officer two ABVP workers have been booked for violating poll code. No students could be brought to political rallies in uniform and it amounts to violation of model code of conduct.Responding to a query, Kantha Rao said three cases have been filed so far in connection with school students attending political rallies in Madhya Pradesh in the run-up to November 28 elections."These cases were registered during 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra' of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ," he said.Besides these, Rao also informed acting on a complaint of political parties alleging that Jan Abhiyan Parishad workers are being used to influence polls, chief secretary has been asked to keep a vigil on Jan Abhiyan Parishad and ensure they do not influence elections.
