For children's welfare, five inducted in Bal panchayat

BHOPAL: Members of the new Bal Panchyat took oath to work for child rights and welfare of the children residing in slum areas and shelter homes on the occasion of World Children's Day. This year we are also encouraging them to talk about safety considering the increasing incidents of crime against children. "Members of many organisations working for children were present at the event. They will address and find solutions to their issues. Five children were elected as new members of the Bal Panchyat at the Bhopal School of Social Sciences on November 11.Raghavendra Sharma, president of Madhya Pradesh Protection of Child Rights Commission administered oath to the give elected as the 'panch' to work for the welfare of children of Bhopal.Elections were held for the Bal Panchayat where children from all the wards of Bhopal selected 40 representatives who in turn elected five children to the panchayat.

Five children were elected as new members of the Bal Panchyat at the Bhopal School of Social Sciences on November 11.Raghavendra Sharma, president of Madhya Pradesh Protection of Child Rights Commission administered oath to the give elected as the 'panch' to work for the welfare of children of Bhopal.Elections were held for the Bal Panchayat where children from all the wards of Bhopal selected 40 representatives who in turn elected five children to the panchayat. The kids will sit together once a month and brainstorm about the problems of the kids in slum area, trying to find solutions for them with assistance from NGO Bachpan, which works for underprivileged children.Rajeev Bhargav, branch in-charge of Bachpan said, "The children have been elected for two years and will work to educate and spread awareness in slums. They will address and find solutions to their issues. This year we are also encouraging them to talk about safety considering the increasing incidents of crime against children."Members of many organisations working for children were present at the event.
