40 lakh new voters supported BJP: CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan

BHOPAL: In the 'feedback meeting' of BJP election committee on Saturday, state BJP president Rakesh Singh greeted chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan , wishing him well for the next five years. The common man was with his party because the BJP government has changed their lives. The CM also greeted Singh for his excellent poll management skills as BJP state unit chief.Both the chief minister and the state president expressed confidence that the party will be winning even more seats this time than 2013 assembly polls, when the BJP had won 165 seats. "We are heading towards a clear and robust mandate", he said.Chouhan further said that the Congress was unnerved in the face of imminent defeat and that is why it was staging one drama after another. He cautioned the party workers against Congress party's possible attempts to vitiate the atmosphere during the counting of votes on Tuesday and exhorted them to undaunted and unmoved.The chief minister further said that his party workers should always remember that exit polls had not given too many seats to the BJP during the 2008 and 2013 assembly polls and yet the party returned to power with a thumping majority.

They said that their estimate was based on 'solid information' and increase in voter turnout was an endorsement of BJP government's policies and programmes both at the Centre and in Madhya Pradesh The chief minister, while addressing the participants at the meeting, said that no exit poll can predict with accuracy what the BJP can on the basis of its empirical wisdom since youths and first-time-voters have all voted for the BJP.Chouhan said 40 lakh extra voters exercised their franchise this time and they voted for the BJP. The common man was with his party because the BJP government has changed their lives.
