Lucknow law varsity wins NLIU moot court contest

BHOPAL: Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow won the 7th NLIU National Corporate Law Moot Court Competition, 2018 that concluded at NLIU, Bhopal on Sunday.Gujarat National Law University was declared the runner-up while Gujarat National Law University has been bestowed with best memorial award. Gujarat National Law University also won the best speaker award. Final rounds were judged by the bench of experienced professionals- Vinod Dhall, (Former chairperson of Competition Commission of India), Kuldeep Kumar (joint director, CCI), Anshuman Sakle (Partner at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Mumbai) and Yogesh Singh (alumnus of batch of 2003 and senior partner at Trilegal , Gurugram).The former vice-chancellor of Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur and the designate vice-chancellor National Law University, Sikkim MK Srivastava also joined the valedictory ceremony. The three-day long competition witnessed 14 teams representing top law schools across India.In its opening ceremony on December 7 the guest of honour retired justice Renu Sharma (former district judge, Bhopal) inaugurated the competition along with NLIU vice-chancellor Prof (Dr) V Vijayakumar and others.Vijaykumar concluded his speech by aptly remarking that "For a law student, mooting is a curricular activity and not a co-curricular activity".This event was organised by NLIU in collaboration with the Competition Commission of India, the NLIU-Alumni association at NLIU Campus.
