High school and higher secondary classes will begin after 8:30 pm due to winters,” said DEO Sharma.The order, released on Sunday created confusion among parents as some schools had not received orders and did not issue any message to parents regarding change in school timings. DEO said, “There will be some confusion on Monday as some schools have not informed parents, but all schools will start after 9 am or 8:30 am as per classes. Parents should wait for buses and principals of schools have been instructed to allow children to enter school even if they are late.”To avoid confusion, Sojan Joseph, secretary, Sahodaya Group of Institutions told TOI all schools under the group will only change timings from Tuesday.“The schools will start at normal timing on Monday and all principals will announce changed timings to students. The new timing will be followed from Tuesday. Even if few students come late following DEO’s order, they will be allowed in schools on Monday,” said Joseph.
