A tale of jealousy and karma

As part of Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum 's Abhinayan series , the play Karni-Bharni was staged in the city recently. The play was well-received by the audience, right from the performance by the cast to the colourful, rustic costumes. Written and directed by Rajkumar Raikwar , the story revolves around the adage 'as you sow, so shall you reap'. It's the story of a buffalo Gauri and her two caretakers Panni and Fullo. Gauri attracts a lot of attention from villagers, as she gives ten litres of milk every day, far surpassing the amount produced by Lambardar's ten buffaloes.The play then shows Lambardar's jealousy get the better of him, setting into a motion a series of karmic events.
