House committee wants hike in loans for MLAs

Bhopal: The MP Assembly secretariat has forwarded a proposal for increase in the amount of soft loans extended to MLAs for purchase of houses and vehicles. After the constitution of 15th House, process for disbursement of loans for purchase of house/vehicles and grant for purchse of computer/laptop has to be undertaken. The committee also decided to recommend hiking the period of loan subsidy on both the loans from existing five years to 19 years (the loan accruing on the two loans for five years is given to MLAs by the state government as grant).The letter further said that the committee had recommended raising the grant given for purchase of computer/laptop from Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000 and the former Speaker, Sitasaran Sharma had endorsed the recommendations of the committee.The committee had met in the auditorium no.

Bhopal: The MP Assembly secretariat has forwarded a proposal for increase in the amount of soft loans extended to MLAs for purchase of houses and vehicles. It has also suggested an increase in grant given to lawmakers for purchase of laptop from Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000.The proposal is based on the recommendations of “Sadasya Suvidha Samiti” (committee to take care of facilities for the MLAs) of 14th state assembly headed by BJP MLA, Neena Vikram Verma.Text of the letter sent to department of legislative affairs said, “Fourteenth state assembly has disintegrated and 15th assembly has come into existence from December 13, 2018. Till then, we are not coming up with any sops.”
