GoAir may start ops from Bhopal

Go Air has tweeted that it may start its operations from Bhopal in near future.Jet Airways is grounding its three flights connecting Bhopal with Mumbai and Delhi from April 1. Within three months of 2019, Bhopal is now connected with Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Raipur, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Shirdi and Bengaluru. Bhopal: Amid the turbulence faced by Jet Airways forcing it to ground its operations from Bhopal to Delhi and Mumbai among others, flyers have some good news in store. At present, Air India, Jet Airways, IndiGo and SpiceJet operate from Bhopal. We have crossed 60,000 flyers and it is counting,” said group head Prachi Baluapuri.Till 2018, Bhopal had air-connectivity with Delhi and Mumbai.

This has more than doubled the fares between the two metros and the state capital.With the Jet Airways decision set to hurt flyers from city, those running campaign the ‘Support Bhopal for Air Connectivity’ (SBFAC) have started contacting other airlines to start operations from Bhopal.“We have been writing to different airlines with data that shows Bhopal has lot of potential and the need to connect it with other cities. In this series, a tweet was made on Holi festival on Thursday mentioning that GoAir should come to Bhopal,” said a flyer Sebastian.He added, “I was on cloud 9 when GoAir responded on a positive note.” GoAir tweeted, “You never know, we are always looking for new routes, see you onboard soon, may be, happy Holi.”He added in past six months it was for the first time that GoAir has responded, that too with a positive attitude. “We will try to contact them personally also. Let’s see what is in store for the future for Bhopal from GoAir’s side,” said an elated Sebastian.Flyers tweet en masse every Sunday requesting and convincing airlines for connecting Bhopal with more cities. Several times tweets have crossed even 5000 tweets in one-go. “When I had started the group, I never knew that it would turn into such a huge campaign. We have crossed 60,000 flyers and it is counting,” said group head Prachi Baluapuri.Till 2018, Bhopal had air-connectivity with Delhi and Mumbai. Within three months of 2019, Bhopal is now connected with Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Raipur, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Shirdi and Bengaluru. Bhopal will be connected with Udaipur, Pune, Chennai soon. At present, Air India, Jet Airways, IndiGo and SpiceJet operate from Bhopal.
