At 40.8°, Bhopal records highest March temperature

BHOPAL: With mercury touching 40.8 degree Celsius, the state capital recorded the highest temperature of the season on Saturday. Parts of MP could also witness showers due to moisture incursion and heating.The day temperature in Bhopal was 40.8 degree Celsius, five degrees more than the normal mark, while the night temperature was 23 degree Celsius, four degrees more than the normal mark. The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Khargone at 45 degree Celsius. Met officials said that the day temperature in more than half of MP was above the 40 degrees mark. The day and night temperatures would be around 41 degree and 23 degree Celsius respectively, while the average wind speed will be 20 kilometres per hour.

Moreover, heat wave swept across majority of places in the state, including Betul, Dhar, Guna, Gwalior, Hoshangabad, Khargone , Shajapur, Chhindwara, Damoh, Jabalpur, Khajuraho, Mandla, Naogaon, Sagar, Tikamgarh and Umaria.Officials at the Meteorological department, Bhopal circle, said there could be some respite from the heat due to thundery development at a few places over the state on Sunday. Parts of MP could also witness showers due to moisture incursion and heating.The day temperature in Bhopal was 40.8 degree Celsius, five degrees more than the normal mark, while the night temperature was 23 degree Celsius, four degrees more than the normal mark. The wind direction in the city was westerly with average wind speed of 18 kilometres per hour. The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Khargone at 45 degree Celsius. Met officials said that the day temperature in more than half of MP was above the 40 degrees mark. On Friday, the day temperature in Bhopal was recorded at 40.1 degree Celsius, four degrees more than normal, while the night temperature was recorded at 19.8 degree Celsius, a degree more than normal.In Sunday’s forecast for Bhopal, Met officials said that there would be a cloud cover in the evening and night with a possibility of thundery development. The day and night temperatures would be around 41 degree and 23 degree Celsius respectively, while the average wind speed will be 20 kilometres per hour.
