Teenage girl commits suicide after mother scolded her for buying mobile phone in MP

In a bizarre incident, a, 18-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide in the Umarwada village in Madhya Pradesh’s Seoni district after her mother scolded her for buying a mobile phone, the police said on Tuesday. In the suicide note, the teen apologised to her mother for buying the phone. Barghat Police Station in charge Santosh Dhurve said a suicide note, purportedly written by her, was recovered from the house. The teen’s mother, a labourer, has told police the girl had purchased a mobile phone with the money kept at home for repaying a loan and this led to an argument between the two on Sunday, the official said. The teenaged girl was found hanging from the ceiling fan on Monday.
