The meeting of the presiding officers of the Legislatures of the country for the smooth functioning of the legislative assemblies was conducted through video conferencing under the chairmanship of President of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Hriday Narayan Dixit, in which Speaker of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Jagdish Deora and Principal Secretary of the State Assembly AP Singh participated.The meeting was held in Lucknow but it was conducted through video conferencing due to the impact of the global epidemic corona. The present Speaker of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Jagdish Deora made several suggestions for the smooth and efficient functioning of the legislative assemblies. At the meeting, the Chairmen of other State Legislative Assemblies also expressed their suggestions and views regarding the running of the legislative assemblies. The Committee will submit its report to the Lok Sabha Speaker. It may be noted that a committee of presiding officers has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, in which Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Gujarat, Tripura, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh state legislations are constituted by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha to make constructive suggestions after studying various aspects for the smooth functioning of the Legislative Assemblies. The Speaker of the House has been nominated as member. The first meeting of the committee was held on November 29, 2019 in Parliament House, New Delhi.
