Monsoon may hit MP on time in around 2nd week of June

Under the favorable monsoon conditions few parts of the State witnessed rainfall and thundery activities in the past 24 hours. The weather conditions would witness changes across the State as the movement of monsoon is steady. Apart from the abrupt changes which are still unlikely monsoon could hit the state on expected time which is around second week of June. Rewa, Jabalpur and Indore divisions have witnessed rainfall in the past 24 hours. State capital witnessed day temperature at 38.5 degree Celsius and night temperature was recorded at 24.5 degree Celsius which were both below normal temperature.

Sidhi, Devsar recorded 3 cm of rainfall while around 8 regions recorded 1 cm of rainfall in the past 24 hours.Warning of speedy wind of 30-40 km/hr and thundery activities has been issued by Met and is likely to hit the State and those areas which are likely to be witness impact are Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Indore, Ujjain and Jabalpur divisions and Satna, Shahdol, Umaria, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Gunna and Sheopur Kalan. Met department told that WD could still impact change in the weather across the state and speedy wind could be witnessed in eastern region of the state in the next 24 hours. The day and night temperatures have started witnessing dip after they peaked. Khargone recorded 44 degree Celsius which was highest in the State. State capital witnessed day temperature at 38.5 degree Celsius and night temperature was recorded at 24.5 degree Celsius which were both below normal temperature. According to the weather forecast pre-monsoon activities in Madhya Pradesh till 6 May would be witnessed and on June 3 and 4, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall somewhere in southwest Madhya Pradesh. The possibility of dipping of day temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius is likely.
