Nine parked passenger buses of the same operator were damaged in massive fire at Nanakheda bus stand in the city on Thursday. The buses were parked for the last two months due to lockdown 19 in the bus stand premises, a few steps away from Nanakheda police station. Around 6 am on Thursday morning, 9 buses of Pallavi Transport Travels standing in a queue appeared in the flames, creating an atmosphere of chaos. A huge fire broke out in 7 buses parked at Nanakheda bus stand in Ujjain on Thursday. In the fire heavy damage was causes. Around 8 fire tender vehicles reached the spot and control the fire. Fire tenders managed to control the fire after 1 hour of hard work. Fire officials said that the bus was sprinkled with petrol and later set ablaze and in the early hours of Thursday. As soon as one of the bus caught fire, the fire spread rapidly and caught 7 buses one by one. As soon as the matter was known, senior police officers and the force of Nanakheda police station reached the spot. The cause of the fire was not clear during the initial investigation. In the fire 6 were damaged completely while 3 buses were damage around 50 percent. As soon as the information about the fire started, SK Sharma, who operated the buses, said that the buses were set on fire which was conspiracy in which he had lost lakhs of rupees. Additional Superintendent of Police Rupesh Dwivedi said that investigation has been started to find out the reasons behind the arson.
