Ensure safe storage of wheat, says CM

Chouhan congratulated District Collectors, farmers including officers of the concerned departments for bumper production and smooth procurement work. He said that a historic work has been accomplished under the wheat procurement in Madhya Pradesh. He mentioned that hundred per cent wheat procurement and transport work were made possible by the officials under the adverse conditions in 26 districts. Chouhan said that necessary arrangements should be made to ensure that wheat should not spoil anywhere. All the Collectors should ensure implementation of every necessary measure to ensure that people do not get infected with the conduct of economic activities in their districts.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan deliberated with District Collectors and Commissioners through video conferencing today as regard to the rainfall took place in various districts of the state and directed them to ensure completion of hundred percent safe storage of wheat. Chouhan said that along with dealing Corona, safe storage of wheat kept in the open in some places is a challenge because of the rains with strong winds caused now by storm Nisarga. Although it has been informed that very less quantity of wheat is yet to be transported to warehouses, but full payment to the farmers will be made against the procured wheat. They need not worry. Chouhan directed that the vehicles of those districts, where the transportation work has been completed can be attached to other districts. At present, Madhya Pradesh is at second place after Punjab. It is a matter of pride. He mentioned that hundred per cent wheat procurement and transport work were made possible by the officials under the adverse conditions in 26 districts. It is a pleasure to achieve success in adversity and in crisis. Chouhan said that necessary arrangements should be made to ensure that wheat should not spoil anywhere. Monsoon has reached Kerala and in such a situation, in the coming days, where wheat is kept in the open, work should be done to protect it. Arrangement should be made to protect the remaining stock by laying the dunnage sheets. He instructed all the Collectors to ensure payment of the amount received by them to the farmers. Chouhan also gave instructions to all the Collectors pertaining to procurement and transportation of Gram. He said that this work should also be done after receiving the permission for Tiwda mix Gram. Chouhan also instructed the officers to complete the works by forming teams of officers, using the staff of other departments. He sought information from the officers regarding the locust control. Out of 21 districts of the state, 18 districts have got rid of locust problem. Necessary measures are being taken in the remaining 3 districts ie Shivpuri, Betul and Rewa. Work to destroy locusts has been conducted using fire brigades and spraying of medicine. The Chief Minister directed to make concrete arrangement for procurement of Gram, Mustard and Masoor (Red Lentil) too. The Chief Minister said that in view of a possible peak of corona virus according to experts, all precautions should be taken as per the local conditions. Public awareness campaign should be continued. Educational institutions are closed now. Necessary arrangements have been made for holding class 12th examinations. All the Collectors should ensure implementation of every necessary measure to ensure that people do not get infected with the conduct of economic activities in their districts. Chouhan congratulated the administrative staff for their efforts in increasing the recovery rate, testing in hospitals, treatment and other arrangements in the districts. He further said that the Police force has also done work with full passion and courage in this hour of crisis. Chouhan congratulated Police force for their commendable services.
