62.84% students clear MP Board Class X exams

The Class X exams results were announced on Saturday and 15 students emerged as topper securing 300 out of 300 marks and 400 out of 400 marks. Around 360 students earned a place in top ten merit list in the board exams.The exams were curtailed by corona outbreak. When the lockdown was imposed, Hindi medium students had one question paper remaining the English medium student one. English medium students’ three subjects were considered for results while marks of four subjects were considered for Hindi medium students. The covid19 impact was also visible at MP Board office as the results on Saturday as only media persons gathered there and no students or parents were present.

Amid coronavirus scare, class 10 students came out with an impressive result in Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Exams (MPBSE) as 15 students finished as exam toppers and in all, 360 student found place in merit list of ten. The Class X exams results were announced on Saturday and 15 students emerged as topper securing 300 out of 300 marks and 400 out of 400 marks. Karnika Mishra of Bhopal was among them.Total 62.84% students cleared the exams, registering around 1.52% improvement in pass percentage as compared to last year.A student of Rima Vidya Mandir, Karnika has excelled in studies drawing inspiration from her mother and maternal grandmother after his father passed away five years ago. After death of her father in class VI, her mother who took up a private job and maternal grandmother took care of her as she immersed herself in studies.The meritorious girl wishes to prepare for UPSC coaching and newly appointed minister Vishwas Sarang has announced to take care of tutorial expenses. The young girl elated on her success dedicated success to family. Around 360 students earned a place in top ten merit list in the board exams.The exams were curtailed by corona outbreak. Started from March 1, the exams could run till March 19 and some of the question papers were called off by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan amid lockdown and fear of infection. At several places, practical exams also could not happen. Eventually the state government had decided that the results will be prepared without carrying out language papers and the students were offered general promotion in remaining question papers. When the lockdown was imposed, Hindi medium students had one question paper remaining the English medium student one. While preparing the result, Best of Three and best of Four criteria was used i.e. English medium students’ three subjects were considered for results while marks of four subjects were considered for Hindi medium students. Generally, the high school board exam results are prepared on the basis of Best of Five subjects, a formula adopted in last few years to improve results and prevent students from pressure of failures and poor grades. The covid19 impact was also visible at MP Board office as the results on Saturday as only media persons gathered there and no students or parents were present. Fearing covid19 infection, the board officers had avoided inviting meritorious students to Bhopal this year.
