Ensure supply of June ration to consumers, CM tells Collectors

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has issued instructions to all Collectors of the State that distribution of ration for the month of June should be ensured to consumers. Along with this, they should also conduct a review of consumers not taking ration from a long time and add names of new eligible consumers in the list. The Chief Minister was reviewing the ration distribution under the public distribution system with the district collectors through video conference from Mantralaya. The Chief Minister, Chouhan said that complaints of irregularities by Upbhokta Bhandar are received from some districts. Chouhan said that ration for the month of March, April and May had already been supplied to the consumers.

The Chief Minister, Chouhan said that complaints of irregularities by Upbhokta Bhandar are received from some districts. This situation should be eliminated, he added. Chouhan said that ration for the month of March, April and May had already been supplied to the consumers. In view of Covid-19 crisis, food grains in advance were also supplied. He instructed the Food and Civil Supplies department to ensure completion of 100 percent distribution of ration, alloted for the month of June among the eligible consumers. The Principal Secretary Shivshekhar Shukla informed that 88 percent food grains have already been distributed. Keeping in view the convenience of consumers, binding of biometric system has also been abolished in the last two months. Survey work of consumers has already been done. Supply of food grains to each eligible consumer is being ensured. The Minister for Health Narottam Mishra, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and Commissioner Public Relations Sudam Khade were present at the meeting. The Chief Minister informed that the Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizer has been requested to ensure availability of fertilizer as per the requirement of the State. Chouhan instructed the officials to complete the proceedings in time as regard to obtain additional fertilizer. He directed the Principal Secretary Agriculture for necessary follow up in this context. Similarly, in connection to the request of the Chief Minister Chouhan for inclusion of 6.45 lakh MT wheat, procured last year in central pool, necessary action is being taken by the Union Goverment in interaction with the officials of the State Government.
