Heavy rainfall with thunder likely in many parts of State

After a long lull period favourable conditions for rainfall have been witnessed due to strong southwest monsoon in the state in the next 5-6 days, said Met department on Monday. Few regions have received good rainfall which had brought the temperatures down. The day temperature dipped to 30 degree Celsius in Bhopal after rainfall witnessed on Sunday. The cloud cover was present in the day and faded in the afternoon but rainfall was not witnessed on Monday. The temperatures are less likely to change in the next 3-4 days except rainfalls which are likely to be heavy in few regions.

After a long lull period favourable conditions for rainfall have been witnessed due to strong southwest monsoon in the state in the next 5-6 days, said Met department on Monday. Among the conditions which would induce good rainfall are a low pressure area likely to be formed in the Bay of North Bengal in the next 24 hours, a monsoon trough is likely to move south and strengthen further during next 3-4 days due to which southwest monsoon is likely to strengthen along the Arabian Sea and along the west coast due to increasing north-south pressure gradients and strong winds. Cyclonic circulation is present over south-western Rajasthan and adjoining areas. Met department has issued warning of heavy rainfall in Sagar division, Umaria, Katni, Jabalpur, Mandla, Betul, Harda, Khandwa, Khargone, Dhar, Indore, Dewas, Datia, Morena and Bhind while Bhopal, Hoshangabad divisions would witness thunder lightening and thundery activities. During the next 24 hours there is a possibility of lightning and thunderstorm in some places in Madhya Pradesh. Few regions have received good rainfall which had brought the temperatures down. The rainfall recorded in cm were in Betul 2, Chhindwara 1.5,Seoni 6.6, Khandwa 1.6. The day temperature dipped to 30 degree Celsius in Bhopal after rainfall witnessed on Sunday. The cloud cover was present in the day and faded in the afternoon but rainfall was not witnessed on Monday. The temperatures are less likely to change in the next 3-4 days except rainfalls which are likely to be heavy in few regions.
