PM interacts with farmer of Lateri’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday interacted with Mukesh Sharma, a farmer from Lateri in Vidisha district. The farmer is the Secretary of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society, Lateri in Vidisha district. Union Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and the State Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Kamal Patel also took part in the webcast. States Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister, Kamal Patel expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing finance facility to the cooperative societies under the Agri Infrastructure Fund. During a discussion in the webcast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told farmer Sharma to motivate his colleagues to make less use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday interacted with Mukesh Sharma, a farmer from Lateri in Vidisha district. The Prime Minister was interacting with the farmers associations of the country through a webcast on the occasion of the Release of Benefit under PM Kisan and Launch of Financial Facility under Agriculture Infrastructure Fund programme. The farmer is the Secretary of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society, Lateri in Vidisha district. On this occasion, Rs 17,100 crore was transferred by the Prime Minister to the accounts of 8.55 crore farmers by a single click. With this, arrangement of Rs one lakh crore has been made under the Financial Facility Under Agriculture Infrastructure Fund for four years. The Prime Minister also interacted with farmers associations of Karnataka and Gujarat besides Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking all necessary steps to strengthen the rural economy of the country. Several welfare related decisions have been taken to benefit farmers, make them self-reliant and double their income. Union Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and the State Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Kamal Patel also took part in the webcast. States Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister, Kamal Patel expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing finance facility to the cooperative societies under the Agri Infrastructure Fund. He said that this would enable the committees to undertake multipurpose activities. This will change the status of farmers and agriculture. This will enable value addition in agriculture and help create employment opportunities at the local level. Patel said that Lateri has brought fame not only to Vidisha but also to Madhya Pradesh. He said that it is a matter of pride for us that Madhya Pradesh is also included in three states of the country. He congratulated Mukesh Sharma, Secretary, Primary Cooperative Credit Society, Lateri, farmers Munni Bai Kushwaha, Rameshwar Chaurasia, Madhav Lal Sharma, Bhagwat Singh Dhakad and Vinay Prakash Singh, CEO, District Cooperative Bank, Vidisha. During a discussion in the webcast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told farmer Sharma to motivate his colleagues to make less use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. This will help improve the health of the land. Sharma told the Prime Minister that there are 1125 farmers in his committee. This committee is constantly active in crop insurance, providing fertilizers and seeds to farmers, and purchase of agricultural produce. The committee also continuously encourages members to use masks and sanitizers as precaution against Corona infection and to follow social distancing.
