Heavy rain likely in Bhopal on Janmashtami

On the festival of Krishna Janmashtami on August 12, the State Capital is likely to receive heavy rains. In the past 24 hours Jabalpur and nearby regions have recorded heavy rainfall of around 10 cm which several regions recorded good rainfall. The Met department has issued warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours in Katni, Jabalpur and Narsinghpur districts while heavy rainfall would be witnessed in Shahdol, Umaria, Annuppur, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Damoh, Sagar, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Hoshangabad, Betul, Harda, Khandwa, Guna, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Bhind and Sheopur. The cloud cover remained during the day and on Monday weather condition would remain same one or two spells of heavy rainfall are likely to occur. During the next 48 hours, heavy to very heavy rainfall in East Madhya Pradesh with light to moderate rain at many places in West Madhya Pradesh and most places in East Madhya Pradesh.

Once again State is likely to receive spells of heavy to very rainfall in the next 24 hours and which could extend to next 2-3 days but intensity of rainfall would reduce. The Met department has issued warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours in Katni, Jabalpur and Narsinghpur districts while heavy rainfall would be witnessed in Shahdol, Umaria, Annuppur, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Damoh, Sagar, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Hoshangabad, Betul, Harda, Khandwa, Guna, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Bhind and Sheopur. Warning of thundery activities and lightening has been issued for Shahdol, Jabalpur and Hoshangabad divisions and Sagar, Chhatarpur, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Shivpuri, Gwalior and Sheopur. Among the other regions which recorded good rainfall were Hanumana 12 cm, Mahuganj and Nainpur 10 cm, Mandla and Amarpatan and Mehadwani recorded 7 cm each. The state capital recorded little rainfall at few places on the weekend. The cloud cover remained during the day and on Monday weather condition would remain same one or two spells of heavy rainfall are likely to occur. During the next 48 hours, heavy to very heavy rainfall in East Madhya Pradesh with light to moderate rain at many places in West Madhya Pradesh and most places in East Madhya Pradesh. Systems inducing rainfall are low pressure area over Bay of Bengal and a cyclonic circulation. The monsoon trough is active and its western end is north of its normal position and the eastern end is south of its normal position and due to these weather conditions, possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in East Madhya Pradesh during the next 48 hours with light to moderate rain at many places in West Madhya Pradesh and rain at most places in East Madhya Pradesh.
