Lakhan Singh Tekam, deputy secretary posted in the Tribal Welfare Department, has died under suspicious circumstances. His body was found in a duplex in Bagmugaliya on Monday evening. His conversation with his wife was off for a few days. If the food plate kept outside the room did not rise, the wife feared something untoward. Lakhan`s body was seen when he broke the door. Tekam shifted to this duplex in June itself. Bagsevania police estimate that he died two days ago. He shifted from the government house at Char Imli to this duplex amid lockdown.

56-year-old Lakhan Singh, a resident of Pebble Way Colony, was not going for duty since Raksha Bandhan festival. According to TI Sanjeev Chowkse, Lakhan Singh was addicted to alcohol. The conversation between the husband and wife was closed for a long time.

Hence wife Jyoti lived with her son on the ground floor and Lakhan on the first floor. The wife used to keep the food plate outside Lakhan`s room every day. If he did not lift the plate for two days, his wife suspected him on Monday evening. When he broke the door, Lakhan was found dead inside. Police reached the spot at around seven o`clock in the evening and sent the body for postmortem. TI says there is no injury mark on the body. He may have had a liver damage. Only after getting the post mortem report can the real cause of death be revealed.
