The world is suffering from the Corona epidemic and everyone is waiting for it to end. People have suffered immensely in this crisis, but there have been hundreds of stories of turning the crisis into an opportunity to make themselves self-sufficient. One of these is the story of the state`s health infrastructure. When the first corona case was found in March, only two labs in the state were able to investigate the virus. Today there are 88 such labs and are available in every district. The labs of 10 government and 7 private medical colleges are also capable of testing and treatment.

More than 10 times beds have been prepared for Corona patients in government hospitals by 31 July as compared to March. The number of oxygen support and HDU beds has increased by 30 times. According to the Health Department, the target is to triple the number of ICU beds in the next one month. There are currently 9317 active patients in the state, which is the highest till now. Despite this, the occupancy of the general bed including oxygen is only 22%. While occupancy of ICU beds is less than 30%.

The efficiency of the Covid test is going to increase further in the coming years. The `Cobas-8800` machine from California, USA, is scheduled to reach MP in September, due to which 3500 tests will be done at a time. The machines presently have a capacity of 500 to 600 tests. This machine will be installed in Indore, which costs around 8 crores. In the current circumstances, Kovid`s real-time PCR tests are close to 18,000 daily and rapid antigen tests are close to 10,000.

RT PCR test capacity is going to be more than 20 thousand. That means daily Kovid tests will be more than 30 thousand. Official sources of the health department say that along with this other preparations are also being done. Tests are important because it will detect the speed of infection.

In March, the corona lab was in Bhopal, Jabalpur.
Before March 25, only the labs of AIIMS Bhopal and NIRTS Jabalpur in the state were able to detect the corona virus. By April 1, three more labs MGM Indore, GMC Bhopal and GRMC Gwalior were developed. Now the district hospitals and all the TV hospitals of all 51 districts of the state have been able to examine and treat the samples of corona through a truenet machine.
