Tourism Min, Manipur Guv launch 6-day nat’l webinar

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Spirituality Usha Thakur accompanied by Governor of Manipur Najma Heptulla on Monday launched a six-day national webinar / lecture series to be held from August 24 to 29 under “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat: Dekho Apna North East”. Thakur said that a study team of students of Madhya Pradesh will be sent to the northeastern States to study their culture, tradition, food, customs, historical heritage etc, besides introducing our culture to them. A webinar has been organized under “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” scheme by Bhimrao Ambedkar University of Social Sciences Mhow in Madhya Pradesh for the first time in the country. The study of the culture of the northeastern States will further strengthen our national unity and integrity with diverse cultures and our ties with north eastern students. Governor Najma Heptulla said that the northeastern states known as ‘8 Sisters’ is the most beautiful part of India.

The study of the culture of the northeastern States will further strengthen our national unity and integrity with diverse cultures and our ties with north eastern students. Governor Najma Heptulla said that the northeastern states known as ‘8 Sisters’ is the most beautiful part of India. Rich in biodiversity, there is immense tourism potential in these States. The special culture and traditions of these States are unique by itself. Apart from giving socio-economic information of the State, she also informed about the inter-border importance of these states with Myanmar, Bhutan, Nepal etc. for India. Prof Asha Shukla, Vice Chancellor of the University chaired the programme. Former Director of ICCR New Delhi, Neeru Mishra gave a panoramic presentation of the remarkable natural beauty and characteristics of all eight North Eastern States. It may be noted that the objective of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” is to strengthen the unity of diversity in the nation by enabling the students from different states of India to have a practical experience of each other’s culture and traditions. Nagaland and Manipur State have been linked with Madhya Pradesh. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had launched the scheme on October 31, 2015 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
