MP UFU flays UP Govt action on protesters, calls meet on Oct 1

The forum has condemned actions by Uttar Pradesh Government and warned that if such suppressive actions are not control nation-wide protest by employees of power distribution companies would be organised and Uttar Pradesh Government would be responsible for the agitation. The Government of India has handed over Standard Bid Document on September 20 to all power distribution companies and asked to provide comments within 15 days which is conspiracy of selling companies at throw away prices. The State is not willing to have communication on the issue with the employee and officer union. On October 10, the National Co-ordination Committee of Electricity Employees and Engineers (NCCOEEE) would protest by organising Virodh Diwas in the state. The NCCOEEE has appealed to the Chief Minsiter of the state and Minister of Energy to have dialogue with the employees to maintain Industrial Peace in the state.

Condemning the lack of communication even after 15 days of peaceful protest, arrest of engineers and attempts of preventing torch procession on Bhagat Singh’s birthday protesting privatisation by employees of Uttar Pradesh Purvachal Power Distribution Company, Madhya Pradesh United Forum Union(UFU) have called for an urgent meeting on October 1 in Bhopal, Jabalpur and Indore. The forum has condemned actions by Uttar Pradesh Government and warned that if such suppressive actions are not control nation-wide protest by employees of power distribution companies would be organised and Uttar Pradesh Government would be responsible for the agitation. The Government of India has handed over Standard Bid Document on September 20 to all power distribution companies and asked to provide comments within 15 days which is conspiracy of selling companies at throw away prices. The impact of these would be electricity bills would increase, pension and other allowances employees and officers would be effected, conditions of service of employees and offices of company cadre would be changed and contractual employees might face job losses. The State is not willing to have communication on the issue with the employee and officer union. On October 10, the National Co-ordination Committee of Electricity Employees and Engineers (NCCOEEE) would protest by organising Virodh Diwas in the state. The NCCOEEE has appealed to the Chief Minsiter of the state and Minister of Energy to have dialogue with the employees to maintain Industrial Peace in the state.
