Marriage garden near Mhow townhall likely

The town hall Mhow, under the administration of Mhow cantonment board, is around 50 years old building is now of no use as it needs a complete repairing of the building structure and also the chairs electric fittings and other basic infrastructure needed for its functioning are in ruined stage. Presently the cantonment board Mhow has also come up with an open air gathering with a stage in its garden area besides the town hall where all the programs which were going in the town hall now is organized here. It is to be noted that there is not a single legal marriage garden in Mhow cantonment area so the people have to go to Indore and Rau area for their marriage ceremonies to the private marriage gardens where they have to pay a heavy cost for marriage functions. On the other hand, the cantonment board townhall and the land around the townhall including the open-air stage area in the garden and the big open ground behind the townhall can be converted into a marriage garden. The corporator of Mhow cantonment board ward no 2 Jitendra Sharma told The Pioneer that it will be good if the cantonment board Mhow comes up with the marriage gardens attached with the town hall as it will give the facility of marriage venue to the people of Mhow tehsil at reasonable cost as presently the vast land of this cantonment board around the town hall is lying vacant and not generating any revenue and if the marriage gardens comes up people will also be benefitted as they will get the venue for marriage at cheap rates besides the cantonment board mhow will also get extra revenue.

According to sources it needs crores of rupees for the renovation of old building of townhall which is presently in the dilapidated condition where only dance music and stage program can be held and which requires lakhs of rupees yearly for it maintenance but on the other hand the frequency of the program happening at the town hall was very less and which doesn’t generate the enough revenue to support the proper function of the town hall.
