‘Premji a role model for social service’

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Wipro chief Azim Premji, is doing unique work in the field of social service along with the field of industry. Chief Minister Chouhan was holding a discussion with Premji of Wipro through video conference on Friday. Azim Premji Foundation (APF) in Bhopal has been allotted 50 acres of land for the university. Chief Minister Chouhan assured Premji that all the works related to the setting up of the university will be completed on time. The Azim Premji Foundation can provide specialist services ranging from training to other activities.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Wipro chief Azim Premji, is doing unique work in the field of social service along with the field of industry. His social services can be considered as an example and role model. The initiative taken by the Azim Prem Ji Foundation for establishment of a university in Madhya Pradesh is commendable. For this, the Government of Madhya Pradesh will extend all possible support to the Foundation. Along with this, the Wipro Group’s consent to set up a software development centre in Bhopal is important for Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Chouhan was holding a discussion with Premji of Wipro through video conference on Friday. The Chief Minister discussed about Premji’s partnership in the implementation of education schemes, new education policy, establishment of model Anganwadi in Bal Bhavan and eradication of malnutrition in the state. Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Manish Rastogi, Director Public Relations Ashutosh Pratap Singh were also present in the video conference. In the video conference, discussion was held regarding the establishment of Wipro’s Software Development Centre in Bhopal. Premji told Chouhan about his consent to set up this centre. All necessary work will be started in this regard. Chouhan said that more employment is being generated for the youth through their skill development in Madhya Pradesh. Such development centres will go a long way in providing more opportunities to the youth in the IT sector. In today’s discussion, Premji said that Madhya Pradesh will get full cooperation from the Wipro Group. Azim Premji Foundation (APF) in Bhopal has been allotted 50 acres of land for the university. Its first phase will start soon. The goal is to start the university in the next 18 months. Chief Minister Chouhan assured Premji that all the works related to the setting up of the university will be completed on time. This university will emerge as an important institution in the field of higher education in Bhopal. Chouhan urged Premji that Wipro Group should become a knowledge partner in the context of new education policy at the level of implementation to ensure good results. The Azim Premji Foundation can provide specialist services ranging from training to other activities. Premji accepted the Chief Minister’s request and agreed to become knowledge partner.
