Few months after farmers from several states started dharna in the national capital against three agri-marketing laws, Congress has started efforts to mobilize peasants in Madhya Pradesh.
Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh on Friday talking to media at his Bhopal residence, announced a series of Kisan Mahapanchayats in Madhya Pradesh in co-operation with smaller parties and farmer-labourers’ organisations.
State units of Samajwadi Party, BSP, JD (u), CPI, NCP, Shiv Sena, AAP and others have extended support to the proposed campaign besides several farm bodies and labourers’ unions, said Singh.
Kedar Sirohi, working president of MP Kisan Congress said that participation of MP farmers have been low in the farm unrest so these mahapanchayats will be oraganised to enhance their participation.
We have invited farmers’ leaders who are leading the charge in the national capital, added Sirohi.
