Madhya Pradesh Tiger cub knocked down by vehicle on highway in Umaria

BHOPAL: A tiger cub of less than one year was knocked down by a vehicle on National Highway 43 at Shahdol Umaria border in the wee hours on Friday. The tiger was crossing the national highway in Gunghuti range of Umaria forest division. The incident occurred on NH-43 around 35 kms away from Umaria district headquarters said Divisional Forest Officer Umaria Mohit Sood. After the incident now DFO plans to put up signboards on the highway cautioning drivers about forest area and movements of animals in the region. The DFO said that he will also write to the National Highway Authority of India to construct speed breakers in the sensitive forest area.
