Lightning Strike In Madhya Pradesh, 4 Dead, 625 Trapped in Flood

Monsoon with heavy rains and floods has trapped 625 people. 

The drastic natural disaster, of lightning, killing 4 people while 625 are trapped in various flood-hit regions in the state. The state government is carrying out search and rescue operations in full swing.

 Speaking to the press, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra confirmed that due to heavy rain and consequent floods, the situation in Gwalior, Chambal, Shivpuri, and Sheopur areas is serious.

Five helicopters were deployed yesterday for rescue ops but they have been unable to fly due to bad weather. Officials are present on-site and are analyzing the situation, he said.

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a detailed discussion over the telephone with PM Narendra Modi over the situation of flood in parts of the state. The CM also informed the PM about the ongoing rescue operations. PM has assured him of all possible help.
