Rewa police have seized Cannabis weighing 52 kg worth over `1 crore and arrested four drug peddlers from Mauganj Chak Mod; truck carrying drugs was seized while two persons on motorbike who were moving along with the truck were arrested in the action. Police said that acting on a tip off regarding massive drug consignment from Uttar Pradesh towards Rewa team was formed and tracked the truck carrying drugs. After receiving information taking immediate action, the team seized a truck container from under the over bridge in front of Mauganj Chak Mod, the spot described by the informer. Two persons going by motor cycle in front of this container were arrested. Those who were piloting to save the container from the police. On checking the container, 9.52 quintals Cannabis in 53 sacks of 18-18 kg each with a value of more than `1 crore rupees in the international market were found in a cabin near the driver's seat which was seized. In the action police have seized a truck with Cannabis a two wheeler without a registration number, 6 mobiles and a number plate totalling `1.5 crore. The accused have been arrested and registered against them under the NDPS Act at Mauganj police station and taken up for investigation. To unveil the larger nexus details of the accused have not been revealed by the police and started further investigation.
