Bhopal: A 22-year-old businessman from Lucknow filed a complaint with Habibganj police on Sunday alleging that an unidentified person stole his smartphone and siphoned off Rs 27,000 by hypnotizing him.In his FIR, Mukesh Shukla, a mining businessman who frequently visits Bhopal, claimed that on September 23, around 6 pm, as he was preparing to depart, he encountered an unidentified youth, approximately 17-18 years old, at Rani Kamlapati railway station. The youth claimed to be hungry, prompting Mukesh to suggest that he buy snacks from a nearby kiosk. The youth then displayed a bag containing three stacks of paper that closely resembled currency notes. He urged Mukesh to take the money, but Mukesh insisted that he either turn it over to the police or deposit it in a bank. The youth then asked Mukesh to touch the paper stacks, and as soon as Mukesh made contact, he was reportedly hypnotized. Under the influence of the hypnotic state, Mukesh complied with the accuseds instructions who confiscated his mobile phone. Subsequently, he coerced Mukesh into revealing his UPI account password. As a parting gesture, the youth handed over a bag to Mukesh, claiming it contained both money and his mobile phone. However, upon inspection, Mukesh discovered that the bag held neither money nor his phone. Not only did they make off with his phone, he also siphon off Rs 27,000 from his UPI-linked bank account.
