After spree of visits in Aug-Sept, PM Modi set for three more visits to MP next month

Bhopal: The BJP cant afford to lose Madhya Pradesh. The back-to-back visits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it ample clear, as the party gears up to battle anti-incumbency and a resurgent Congress in the November assembly polls.PM Modi has visited the state once in August and twice in September while two more visits were scheduled between October 2 and October 5. In the three visits in August and September, two were official visits while the one in Bhopal was a political one.The two visits scheduled in the first five days of October would also be official and not political visits. Model code of conduct for the assembly polls is expected anytime after October 5. In the two visits in the first week of October, which were likely before the model code of conduct, the PM would give beneficiaries advantage of government schemes and lay foundation stones for major projects. On October 2 in Gwalior, the PM is likely to dedicate houses under the PM Housing Scheme. On October 5 in Jabalpur, he would lay the foundation of Rani Durgavati memorial. On September 18, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan had said that on the 500th birth anniversary of Rani Durgavati on October 5, foundation laying of a grand memorial will be performed at Madan Mahal. The PM is also expected to visit Chhatarpur, the same day for the Ken-Betwa link project.Among the visits in the past two months, the PM on August 12, addressed an event in Sagar district. On September 14, he addressed a gathering after laying the foundation stone of Rs 50,000-crore petrochemicals complex in poll-bound MPs Bina.Eleven days later, on September 25, the PM addressed BJP workers at a massive Karyakarta Mahakumbh in Bhopal and attacked the opposition. It was a political programme. The ruling BRS party has already announced its candidates, while the opposition Congress and BJP are finalizing theirs. The final electoral rolls will be published on October 4, with nearly 15 lakh new voters added and 3.38 lakh names deleted. The ECI team will hold meetings with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with the model code of conduct.PM Modi to kick off BJP poll campaign in Telangana on October 1Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a public gathering in Telanganas Bhootpur on October 1, marking the start of the BJPs campaign for the state assembly elections. The Prime Ministers office confirmed the schedule, and BJP leaders are also considering holding another public meeting in either Kamareddy or Gajwel, where Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will be contesting. The BJP plans to boost morale by having Modi kick off the campaign and is expected to announce its first list of candidates after his visit.
