Bhopal: Masked men beat up tech students

Bhopal: A dozen-odd masked men stopped a bus carrying LNCT Engineering College students in Bhopal on Monday evening, and attacked them viciously. The college bus was near St. Montfort School around 6pm when it was waylaid by several masked men who attacked the students without provocation, said sources. There was a long dispute between the two groups of students, as one was pressuring the other to join political rallies, said sources. Two students were injured and one of them is in hospital.Mid-semester examinations are on at the college. Aditya is in hospital.The students say the same group that attacked them had beaten up another student outside the college gates in the morning.

Two students were injured and one of them is in hospital.Mid-semester examinations are on at the college. On Monday, the students were returning home after exams when they were attacked. The college bus was near St. Montfort School around 6pm when it was waylaid by several masked men who attacked the students without provocation, said sources. The attackers pelted stones at the students."The brawl was due to a dispute between two group of students. Two students have sustained minor injuries and one of them is admitted to National Hospital. A case has been registered at Bilkhiria police station and investigations are going on," SP North Siddharth Bahuguna told TOI.The injured students allege the attackers were led by the son of a sarpanch and that they were targeted because they had refused to participate in political rallies organised in the city. The injured have been identified as Aditya Singh and Jaivardhan Raghuvanshi of third year, said sources. Aditya is in hospital.The students say the same group that attacked them had beaten up another student outside the college gates in the morning.
