BHOPAL: For 16 years, an alleged corruption case file is only doing its rounds in the government offices while no action has been initiated even after the Economic Offenses Wing submitted its preliminary investigation report way back in 2011. This was an allegation raised by BJP MLA from Gwalior (South) Narayan Singh Kushwah during the Question Hour in the Madhya Pradesh state assembly on Tuesday.Peeved that the government has not initiated any action in the case which involves an alleged corruption of Rs 1.15 cr from the Member of Parliament Development Fund, Kushwah started with a direct accusation against his own party minister Lal Singh Arya. "The minister tells lies," he said which was immediately expunged from the records by Speaker Sitasharan Sharma.Money from MP Development Fund was allocated in 1999 to purchase computer projectors for 23 schools in Gwalior and Bhind, the legislator told the House. "Why is the investigation not picking up speed?" he asked. "No action has been taken even after the EOW has registered a case. Till date the guilty have not been punished and all accused have become 75 years old," he said.In reply, minister of state for GAD Lal Singh Arya said, "Till evidence is not entire with us, no action can be taken. The matter has gone to the High Court and Supreme Court. Preliminary investigation has been done by the EOW, but action cannot be initiated only on the basis of a sub-inspector's report. The law courts have given their directions also."Arya argued that on January 18, 2016 the district collector of Bhind was asked to provide details of the case and evidential support. "The collector sent back only partial details of the case. The same happened yet another time when the collectorate provided insufficient material of the case," Arya said. "Investigation will be completed once all relevant details come."Still irate with the minister's reply, Narayan Singh Kushwah said, "When will an FIR get registered? After EOW submits its report, another six years have passed just collecting evidence . When will you arrest those involved in the irregularities?" Arya said, "When all details come."
