Congress members shouted slogans, stepped into the well twice and staged walkout in protest. The matter was raised during zero hour when Congress members raised slogans and stormed the well demanding purchase of Moong and Urd pulses at minimum support price (MSP). The Congress MLAs alleged that officials at the Mandis have stopped purchase of pulses at MSP despite government's promise to help the farmers.Amid ruckus, deputy speaker Dr Rajendra Kumar Singh adjourned the house for 5 minutes. When the House re-assembled, the Congress members continued demanding government reply on the current situation in Mandis and reason behind non-purchasing of pulses."In Harda farmers are queuing for last four days in Mandis to sell their pulses but the Mandi officials are not purchasing Moong. Why the government has stopped the purchasing?", asked Congress MLA Ramkishore Dogne. In the meantime, when the deputy speaker instructed to continue the proceedings, Congress members again stormed the well and shouted slogans demanding loan waiver for the farmers.Speaker Sitasharan Sharma chaired the house and tried to pacify the MLAs but to no avail. Farmer welfare and agriculture development minister Gaurishankar Bisen also tried to clarify government stand, but failed. The Congress MLAs continued shouting slogans against the government following which speaker Sharma adjourned the house for another 15 minutes. When the house reassembled, Leader of Opposition (LOP) Ajay Singh recalled chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan 's announcement in the house that purchase of pulses would continue till July 31."When chief minister has assured a day before, how come the officials refusing to purchase pulses in Mandis in some districts. The agriculture minister should clarify as so many MLAs were getting agitated on this issue", he demanded.Replying to the queries, agriculture minister Bisen said that after the session, he would call a meeting of the officials to restart purchase of Moong and Urd pulses at MSP in all districts till July 30.But, the Congress leaders raised demand of loan waiver and corruption in onion purchase. The government discussed farmers' problems for more than 12 hours during last two days and gave every chance to the Opposition to spell out their vows. It was also assured that what chief minister had announced in the house would be done by July 31. But, the Congress seem to be frustrated by chief minster's befitting reply to their queries'', said revenue minister Umashankar Gupta. After Opposition walkout, the Speaker instructed to complete the routine business and adjourned the house for the day.
