BHOPAL: As the row over the controversial film 'Padmavati' continues to rage, both the BJP and the Congress indulged in a slugfest over its screening.As chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced conditional screening of the film post-Censor clearance, Congress, the principal opposition party in the state which is going to take on the BJP in 2018 assembly elections, grabbed the opportunity and termed the chief minister's move as a 'political ploy' ahead of Gujarat elections.Sources in the BJP said that Rajputs are almost one crore of state's over 7 crore population. The community also holds the reins of power in most of the political parties. This may be the possible reason behind BJP's change in stand on the movie, they say. Though the community has more than 12 social groups, they have united over the controversy and extended their support to Karni Sena A group of BJP MLAs had met at the CM's residence and aired their reservations. Party's state head Nandkumar Singh Chauhan, who himself belongs to a Rajput community from West Nimar region, emerged as a one of the film's harshest critics. "Bhansali is insane.
