Khyanikaa lauded by audience at screening

Critically acclaimed Odia film, Khyanikaa — The Lost Idea, was screened at Inox multiplex in the city recently. It was a paid screening and people bought tickets in large numbers, as they didn’t want to miss the one show being held in the state. The film has made its mark at 12 prestigious international film festivals across eight countries. The film that had been screened at the IFFI Goa Festival last year and was the only film from Odisha could be released for one show and it was houseful. There were eminent people like businessman Subroto Bagchi , theatre personality Anant Mohapatra, Odissi danseuse Ileana Citaristi , actress Anu Chaudhury , and the cast and crew of the film that include Amartya Bhattacharya, Swastik Chaudhury, Dipanwit Dasmohapatra among others.

Amartya is the story and screenplay writer, director, cinematographer and editor of the film, which is a fantasy tale of two men, a poet and a painter, claiming possession over the same idea, in a rural village portrayed as wonderland. The film has made its mark at 12 prestigious international film festivals across eight countries.
