It will start executive MTech in chemical engineering, a two-year course, from January 2019 while the enrolment for PhD programmes has already started. BHUBANESWAR: The Institute of Chemical Technology, Indian Oil Corporation (ICT-IOC), Odisha , will begin classes for first batch on its Bhubaneswar campus from Friday.A total of 60 students have taken admission in the five-year integrated MTech in chemical engineering course. "The institute will focus on industrial research on subjects which are practically relevant. This will create more entrepreneurs from the state like in Gujarat and Maharashtra," said director of the institute, Bhaskar N Thorat.Of the current lot of students, 25 per cent belong to Odisha and 30 per cent are girls. "The objective of ICT-IOC is to extend the expertise of ICT-Mumbai in the fields of chemical science, engineering and technology by providing best-in-class academic and research facilities in the state," he said.The institute will offer courses in chemical engineering, petrochemicals, textiles, polymers, foods, pharmaceuticals, energy and others.
