Odisha govt plans roadshows to promote sports tourism ahead of Hockey World Cup

Besides, showcasing the state’s tourism potentials, the state government plans to present Bhubaneswar as the sports capital of the country and the state as cradle of hockey.“Though the roadshows, we will welcome the sports enthusiasts and tourists to Odisha. We want to give people a taste of Odisha’s authenticity when they come down for the mega sporting event in November-December,” said sports and tourism secretary Vishal Dev.The state government also plans to participate in some international tourism conclaves to promote the hockey world cup.Recently, Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) inked an agreement with online room aggregator OYO Rooms to facilitate accommodations for the visitors during the event.
