BJP demands CBI probe into scams of Odisha govt

It demanded CBI probe into the alleged sapling scam , cooperative scam and Omfed scam of over Rs 700 crore in the state.Talking to the media persons here, BJP spokesperson Pitambar Acharya said Rout, who was a minister in the BJD government, has raised the horticulture sapling scam in Mayurbhanj district.

It demanded CBI probe into the alleged sapling scam , cooperative scam and Omfed scam of over Rs 700 crore in the state.Talking to the media persons here, BJP spokesperson Pitambar Acharya said Rout, who was a minister in the BJD government, has raised the horticulture sapling scam in Mayurbhanj district. The former minister has also revealed the scams in the Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation (Omfed) and farm loan scam in the cooperative department, he added.“A former minister in the BJD government and very senior leader Rout has brought these serious allegations against the state government in and outside of the assembly. But chief minister Naveen Patnaik avoided the corruption question of media persons on Thursday. It shows the government’s attitude towards corruption,” said Acharya.He said the corruption is not an internal affair of the ruling party, but it affects the common people of the state. “People want transparency in governance and the state government should come out clean in the fresh allegations. If the chief minister claims that his government is clean, he should recommend the Central investigating agency CBI to probe the cases,” he added.Acharya said his party will hit the street if the state government does not recommend the CBI to probe the corruption cases. “We can also take legal path to fight against the government,” he added.BJD spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb said the state government does not need any advice from BJP spokesperson. “The corruption related issues have been discussed in the state assembly. Chief minister along with other members were present there. People from across the state know about the discussions held in the assembly. Our government is taking all necessary steps against corruption,” he added.
