Mukesh Ambani offers daughters wedding invite to Jagannath

After a darshan of the temple's presiding deities, Ambani handed over Isha's wedding card to Bijay Khuntia, a servitor. I invited the sibling deities to my daughter's wedding ceremony. "I placed the wedding card near the deities and chanted a few shlokas. I had earlier visited Kedarnath and Badrinath with the wedding invite," Ambani told media persons in Puri.Puri collector Jyoti Prakash Das and along with some temple officials accompanied Ambani to the temple around 3.30 pm. "I consider myself blessed to have had a darshan of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.

Bhubaneswar: After wrapping up his official engagement with the state's biennial investors' summit, the Make in Odisha Conclave 2018, in Bhubaneswar, Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani on Monday headed straight to Puri to offer his daughter, Isha's, wedding invite to the sibling deities of the Jagannath Temple.Isha is set to tie the knot with leading businessman, Anand Piramal, on December 12. "I consider myself blessed to have had a darshan of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra. I invited the sibling deities to my daughter's wedding ceremony. It is part of our tradition to seek divine blessings during marriage ceremonies and other welfare works. I had earlier visited Kedarnath and Badrinath with the wedding invite," Ambani told media persons in Puri.Puri collector Jyoti Prakash Das and along with some temple officials accompanied Ambani to the temple around 3.30 pm. He spent a good 40 minutes at the 12th century shrine. After a darshan of the temple's presiding deities, Ambani handed over Isha's wedding card to Bijay Khuntia, a servitor. "I placed the wedding card near the deities and chanted a few shlokas. I also offered a garland, worn by Lord Jagannath, to Ambani and asked him to keep the divine flowers on his daughter's marriage mandap," Khuntia said, adding that the wedding card was beautifully designed.Ambani later visited Mahalaxmi temple, located on the premises of the Jagannath Temple, and offered his prayers to the goddess there. He sat on the Mahalaxmi temple premises for nearly five minutes and put his signature on a register, maintained by Raghunath Gochhikar, a servitor, whose forefathers had reportedly escorted Ambani's father and other family members during their visits to the to Jagannath Temple in the past.Das said, "I requested Ambani to fund two development projects in Puri. These include a multi-level parking project and development of Emar mutt in Puri. He gladly obliged to do the same."
