Berhampur: The Berhampur University (BU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Fourth Paradigm Institute (CSIR4PI), Bengaluru, a reputed research institute, recently to undertake exchange of students and faculties for academic purpose and collaborative research on various scientific aspects.The MoU was signed between head of department of marine science Pratap Mohanty and registrar of Berhampur University Ranjan Biswal with KC Gouda and Saradha, senior scientist and head of the project unit management of CSIR4PI respectively, in presence of vice-chancellor of BU Rajendra Prasad Das. Berhampur University is likely to recognize the CSIR4PI as one of the research centres to collaborate with in future, Das said.Students of marine science of the university will get exposure while doing their project works in one of the six semesters as the CSIR4PI is doing research on various aspects of oceanography , he said.With this, Berhampur University has signed MoUs with 14 different institutes of the country and abroad for collaborative research and exchange of students and faculties, said an official source.Extension works like livelihood support to tribals and fisherfolks in southern Odisha is also being done at present thanks to an MoU signed with the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and National Fisheries Resaerch and Development Institute, the source said.
