Matriculation exam to start from February 22

And also the timing has been changed to second sitting instead of first sitting like it was last year, informed BSE official.The Madhyama Sanskrit and Class IX vocational examinations will be held simultaneously with the matriculation examination from February 22.

CUTTACK: The annual high school certificate ( HSC ) examination will be held from February 22 to March 8, 2019.Making the announcement on Friday, president of the Board of Secondary Education ( BSE ) Jahan Ara Begum said this year there will be four sets of obective-type question papers. Last year, there were only three.OMR answer sheets will be provided to students for the objective-type paper. The students have to secure a minimum of 15 marks each in both subjective and objective formats. Earlier, they needed a minimum of 30 out of 100 marks to pass in a subject but there was no compulsion to get a minimum of 15 in both subjective and objective-type papers.The examination will be conducted in around 3,000 centres from 9 am to 11:30 am. Students will get extra 15 minutes for the mathematics examination. The last date for submission of application forms has been extended to December 15 from the ealrier anounced date of December 13.The examination for State Open School Certificate (SOSC) will be held in the second session from 1.30 to 4 pm. SOSC students will have separate sets of questions this year. And also the timing has been changed to second sitting instead of first sitting like it was last year, informed BSE official.The Madhyama Sanskrit and Class IX vocational examinations will be held simultaneously with the matriculation examination from February 22. After receiving the applications for the examinations, the squads and list of invigilators will be readied, said Begum.Following last year’s leak of question papers in the social media, the authorities have decided to ban cellphone use by invigilators at the examination centre and all invigilators will be checked thoroughly before entering the hall.
