The nearest primary school is located near Reserve Bank Colony. The children are forced to cross the road and the barrack to reach the school. It can be avoided if there is a school in our area too," Ashok Kumar Behera, secretary of the association, said."It is not possible for us to send our children to private schools since we can't afford it. We also can't deprive our children of education, so government schools remain the only option for us. The government should realise our need and open at least a primary school in our area," said Prabhakar Acharya, president of the association. An official of the Odisha Primary Education Programme Authority (OPEPA) said they will conduct an inspection of the area to ascertain the number of children studying at the primary level. "We will submit our report to the school and mass education department," the official said.
