Balasore: A man killed his wife and a youth in his house in Ranipatna Bank Colony under Sahadevkhunta police station limits here on Tuesday morning.The accused, Kailash Sahu, surrendered to police after the crime, said Sudarshan Das, deputy superintendent of police(DSP-Crime). The deceased were identified as Laxmipriya Sahu and Pradip Kumar Dutta.Das said Kailash and Laxmipriya from Durgadebi village in the district’s Remuna block had been staying in a rented house in the Bank Colony at Sahadevkhunta.While Kailash is unemployed, his wife worked in a private company. He used to suspect his wife of having an extra-marital affair because of which the couple had frequent altercations, police sources said.Early on Tuesday morning when Kailash found his wife with Dutta in his house, he killed them with a digging bar, police said. After killing the duo, he informed his in-laws about it and later called up police and reported the matter.Police sent the bodies for postmortem while interrogation of the accused, who was later arrested, is underway. A case has been registered with Sahadevkhunta police station.Further investigation was carried out by a scientific team and sniffer dog to find out more details about the double murder, the DSP added.
