In Rayagada district there will be 17 more LPG distributors, adding to the existing four, he added.Later in the day, while addressing a gathering at Semiliguda in Koraput district, Dharmendra accused the state government of neglecting education and health sectors in the tribal district.However, BJD spokesperson Rabi Narayan Nanda refuted the allegations as baseless.

KORAPUT: With an eye on the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections, Union minister for petroleum and natural gas Dharmendra Pradhan launched a slew of projects for tribal-dominated Rayagada, Koraput and Nabarangpur districts during his one-day visit to Rayagada on Tuesday.While the Union minister laid foundation stone of LPG bottling plant of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) in Rayagada district, he inaugurated foot overbridges at Rayagada, Ladda and Jamidipeta in the district through videoconferencing . Besides, he declared Rayagada as a separate postal division carved out of Koraput division.Also, through videoconferencing, Dharmendra laid the foundation stone of an aviation fuelling station at Jeypore in Koraput district and inaugurated post office passport seva kendra in Nabarangpur district.“Our government gives much priority to development of undivided Koraput-Balangiri-Kalahandi (KBK) region. The proposed bottling plant, which will come up at Pitamahal situated on the outskirts of Rayagada town, will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 91 crore. It is expected to be completed by September 2020.The plant will have a bottling capacity of 60 MMTPA (42 lakh cylinders per year) and once commissioned it will cater to the needs of people of Balangir, Boudh, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhmal, Koraput, Malakangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Rayagada and Sonepur districts, an official said.Describing the Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana (PMUY) as a revolution, which has brought smiles on the faces of the poor, Dharmendra said, “The scheme has empowered around 6.40 crore women, including 37 lakh women in Odisha, across the country.
